It was a successful first attempt, and it took everyone involved to make it happen. Thanks to each and every one of you! Our first gift drive has sparked new interest, new involvement and lots of new ideas for needed donations. With the help of our friends in Afghanistan, I’ll be putting together an updated list of “needs” for these amazing children. Dear Tina,

        Thank you so much for the clothes and wonderful school supplies for the unfortunate children of Herat, Afghanistan. Because of you and the collections you made we were able to provide for 30 children. After seeing the orphanage and the conditions that the children were living in, we are going to continue to try our best to provide whatever care and clothing we can for the kids. As you can see from the pictures we are sending you, even though these children have so little; today because of you and your efforts, they had a reason to smile. We have been told that currently there are 100 children to care for, and clothing, school supplies, and even food are much needed. Unfortunately shipping food is not an option, so we are going to do our best to help out with what we can here, but the clothing and supplies we hope to continue to collect and deliver with your help.

Each winter, MGOH collects and distributes warm winter clothes to disadvantaged children in Afghanistan. By partnering with a select group of United States veterans actively serving overseas, we ensure your heartfelt donations are delivered directly to the children who need them the most. Not only are you aiding the children, but you are helping these courageous troops build a stronger foundation and sense of community during this volatile time of war. It is with the help of our community, local schools, organizations and YOU that we are able to bring hope and comfort to these precious boys and girls.
